Trail Overview
This is a 1.3-mile segment of Peach-Cinnabar that drops down from the intersection with Gardner Creek to the Peach Creek Trailhead. This segment of trail drops 840 feet in 1.3 miles, steeply going down about 15 technical switchbacks. The northern end is more mellow, with a couple of logs across the trail that have to be ridden over, and a bigger root obstacle, before starting the descent. The series of switchbacks is very steep and tight, with narrow sections of side-hilling in between each hairpin. Most average riders probably couldn't ride the switchbacks fluidly, rather requiring multi-point turns. There is some embedded rock and loose rock on the surface of the trail in the corners, but there aren't big embedded rock ledges on the switchbacks, keeping it at an intermediate difficulty. Lots of logs have been cut throughout the trail, as this is a highly trafficked route as a common start to riding up to Custer's Lookout. This trail is open 7/1 - 9/30 for motorized use.
