Trail Overview
Sidewinder is a single track full of very tight turns through sagebrush that makes for a great practice trail or warm-up for your day ride since it's close to the staging area and the quick curves will get you warmed up fast. The first half is through pretty flat land with minimal rock. It's aptly named Sidewinder since it's so twisty. The second half climbs up a hill with wide S turns that get tighter as you go up. The succession of so many tight curves in a row is an added challenge and good standing balance practice. The top of the hill has some more flat slab rock embedded into the surface of the trail, and the rock gets bigger as you keep going. Most of the rock is flat, but there are a couple of bigger slab rocks in the trail to go over. It continues down the backside of the hill with more tight curves to intersect with Backdoor. There are several road crossings throughout the trail to look out for.
