Trail Overview

This route starts on Highway 95 near De Smet, Idaho and travels through McCroskey State Park. This is a well maintained road that any vehicle should be able to take on. Signs along the way will teach you some of the history of the area. Just over 6 miles in, you'll come across a day use area with a sizeable picnic shelter containing a large BBQ grill, along with bathrooms and a fire pit with benches. A couple more miles will take you to a campground with potable water and restrooms. This is a neat area to take a drive and see some views.

Difficulty

Skyline Drive is a well maintained road. Most any low-clearance vehicle or 2WD vehicle can make it up this main road, although 4WD may be required during mud or snow conditions. Cell service is intermittent in this area but generally available.

Access Description

You'll see signs for McCroskey State Park while driving down highway 95 between Potlatch and De Smet, Idaho. This trail is very easy to find if you're starting from the east side.
