Trail Overview
Solomon Lake Road is USFS #2404 and #627 in the Kaniksu National Forest which leads to Solomon Lake as well as other hiking and snowmobile routes in the area which are seasonally gated. The road is a lightly used gravel single-lane road with some overgrowth and some pullouts that have been used for camping. The first mile of the route passes through private property with residences; please keep dust, noise, and speed down. The road grade is mild, up to 7% grade though it may be difficult if pulling a trailer. There is a campground with a vault toilet, two camp spots with fire rings and tables, and a mud boat launch area at the lake. The lake is shallow and shaded most of the day. This is a popular area for hunting and logging activities, with grouse, deer, elk, and grizzly bears present.
