Trail Overview
Upper Harden Creek ATV Trail is a 2.8-mile two-track that accesses the Hay Knapp Creek single-track and ATV trail. The south end starts on Lower Harden Road, and it climbs 1,100 feet up to the grassy barren mountain top in a burn area. Most of the two-track rides atop a wide open ridgeline above 8,000 feet elevation, with small steep climbs and descents with little loose rocks in the trail, but no big obstacles. It has little dips and rollers and some rockier spots that make the trail more interesting, but don't really add to the difficulty. There's potential for logs to be down in the burn area. The trail has really beautiful views all the way to the Sawtooth Mountains when riding south. This trail is seasonally closed from October 1 - June 30. You can connect to the Hay Knapp Creek ATV trail for a longer ATV ride.
