5431 Skidder Hill

Virtually impassible hill section where the steam flows down the hill. The bypass is easy for most vehicles. The rest of the trail is single lane with areas to pass.

awesome track to drive. did this trail east to west and it was washed out about half way down the trail. the next portion was completely impassable but there is a bypass after that you can take which is what most of not all 4wd's take now. for a smaller over landing rigs like our Yoder's it may be easy to become high centered on the clay but you can always get a shovel out for it if needed we did do a small amount of shoveling but my Toyota pickup and my buddies Tacoma were both able to drive this track. the last but I did have to use a winch.

Skidder hill was very rough and soupy from the spring. East to west is downhill, which is easiest. Bypass was open and easy for fullsized truck.

The trail was in a pretty typical condition to what it normally is. The washout from the natural spring area is still really deep and off camber. The bypass can be taken by a high-clearance 4x4. The off camber and mud section can be tackled by a high-clearance 4x4 with optimal ground clearance and plenty of suspension flex. This section was very wet and mucky. This area is really beautiful in the woods.
