Trail Overview
NFS 5417 is a hidden gem trail. A bidirectional forestry off-road trail located within the beautiful Manistee National Forest leads to spectacular views of rows of tall red pine trees. Most of the trail consists of dirt, sand, and gravel. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. There are a few washboard sections to be on the lookout for. Regardless of the conditions, this is an incredibly scenic trail with other awesome trails nearby! Also, something to note, this trail is a seasonal trail with it being utilized in the winter for snowmobiles. Please be respectful of our public lands and TREAD LIGHTLY.
