Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 6296 is an easy off-road trail located just a few miles south of U.S. 10. This route has nothing technical and weaves through a scenic section of the Manistee National Forest. Along this route, you'll come across 2 dispersed campsites, one on each side of the trail. If you choose to use these for yourself, leave them better than you found them. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. This trail is typically only wide enough for 1 vehicle, but there are plenty of places to pass. There are many other trails nearby to explore as well. Enjoy this track, because it's a one-of-a-kind.
