Trail Overview
NFS 7441 is a bidirectional off-road trail located within the Manistee National Forest. From the north side, you'll start in a dense portion of the forest. You'll navigate through a tunnel of trees. The trail eventually opens up a bit where the surface changes to grass. The trail finishes at the Caberfae Highway (M-55). The south side of the trail starts alongside private property and shares the entry as their driveway. Please respect the local landowners and TREAD LIGHTLY so we can continue using these trails for future generations! Most of the trail consists of dirt, grass, and sand. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. This trail doesn't see a lot of traffic and therefore has a decent amount of overgrowth. This also means that after recent bad weather, downed trees are a high possibility. Come prepared. Even though this trail isn't trafficked regularly, be sure to take it to the beauty of the tunneling trees. It's a sight to see. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail with other cool trails nearby!
