Trail Overview
NFS 9851 is an easy off-road trail within the Manistee National Forest. Although this trail is short and has nothing technical, it connects outdoor enthusiasts for many reasons. This track gives access to the Holton Loop Motorcycle Trail, as well as access to a local fishing hole. This trail also gives hunters a quick access point to the public hunting lands. Most of the trail consists of sand and dirt. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Just off the end of the trail, there's an established fire ring where it looks as if others have backpack camped here. If you do partake in using this spot, please Tread Lightly! Please find more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station before dispersed camping here. Regardless of the conditions or length, this is a great trail that will lead you to more outdoor activities and memories!
