Trail Overview
Swan Creek Trail (121st Avenue) is an easy and bouncy off-road trail for beginners. Located off 118th Avenue, this route is easily accessible. This trail is typically easy with nothing technical, just lots of ruts that will bounce you all around. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt and weaves through a beautiful forest with great fall foliage. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. This trail ends up at a sandy parking loop where you can walk down a short trail over to a spillway on Swan Creek (which flows into the Kalamazoo River nearby). There are usually a few people fishing here, but the hiking is great as well! Regardless of the conditions, this is a fun and unique trail!
