Trail Overview
Twisty Weeble Wobble Camp Trail is an out-and-back off-road trail. Located along and near the Manistee River, the trail gets its name from what happens throughout it. You'll be sure to be twisting and weeble wobbling as it's a rough trail with a lot of washboard sections, exposed tree roots, and some minor mud holes. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt and sand as you descend towards the river. When you reach the end of the trail at the loop you'll find several large dispersed campsites overlooking the river. There is walking access to the water if you should choose to do so. If you plan on camping off this trail, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and please seek more information at the local DNR Office/Ranger Station prior to camping here. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. Be sure to enjoy the campsites here, as they're some of the best in the area. Leave them better than you found them. Regardless of the conditions, this is an epic trail with even better camp spots. Pro Tip: Bring some Tylenol for your head after you complete this track from bouncing and twisting all around!
