Trail Overview

Well maintained wide dirt road leading to several very popular hiking trails.Blodgett Overlook 1.4 mile hiking trail and Canyon Lake is 5 miles. There is a nice parking area for 10-15 cars at the end of this driving trail, a pit toilet, and some nice day use spots right on the creek. The trail up is wide and grated, probably not maintained in winter. There are a couple of mild switchbacks on this trail, take care in the corners. The trees thin out closer to the top and the views out over the Bitterroot valley are beautiful on a clear day. This dirt trail can be easily driven by 2wd passenger cars during the dry season. Caution should be taken in winter or after a snowstorm.
