Trail Overview

This is an easy and scenic route starting from the Historic Fairview Ranger Station and ending at Lake Koocanusa and the Cripple Horse Marina and RV Park for refreshments or food. There are also multiple off-grid camping spots along this route and a great side hike to the Warland Peak lookout tower is highly recommended. There are also a few fantastic camping spots on the lake just north of the marina.

Difficulty

This is a very easy route unless there's a lot of snow; then it can be really challenging and fun. It can be done in a low-clearance 2WD vehicle most of the year.

Access Description

This route can be accessed from Wolf Creek road from the east or Highway 37 from the west. Warland Peak Lookout is just north of Cripple Horse Road.
