Trail Overview

Carrol Creek is an easy 5 miles of ATV trail, designated for vehicles 50" or less. The south ends starts as a Jeep road, near the intersection with the Fairy Creek trail. After 1,000 feet or so, it turns into the ATV trail. It's still a very wide path though for the entire route. It goes pretty straight and flat in the beginning, with more curves in the northern half. It goes up and down a lot, over small gradual hills. It's mostly smooth but has a couple of sections with small loose rocks that do not increase the overall difficulty rating. It has great views of the Bridger Range. Watch out for black bears in the area. This trail is open 6/16 - 12/1 for motorized use.

Access Description

This is part of a really nice trail system in the Bridger Range within 30 minutes of Bozeman, Montana. There is dispersed camping at Battle Ridge, or day-use staging at the Battle Ridge Parking Lot off of highway 86 at the start of the Fairy Creek Trail. Most of the trails are seasonally open from mid-June until mid-October. They are multi-use trails, so you will likely see hikers, and keep in mind this is grizzly bear territory.
