Trail Overview
The Hidden Lakes ATV trail starts at the Hidden Lakes Trailhead, which is accessed through Portal Creek Road and Hidden Lakes Road. The first 1.5 miles up to the intersection with the Hidden Lakes Divide single track is relatively easy. It's a wide dirt two-track between a forest of pine trees, with lots of embedded rock. The rocks in the beginning are more spread out and not as difficult, and manageable for most ATV riders. It starts to have a bunch more loose rock on the surface of the trail as it approaches the intersection with Hidden Lakes Divide, and starts to go through moderately challenging rock gardens and up rock slabs. The next segment until the first Hidden Lake is significantly more difficult, having to go through long sections that are completely full of boulders, and steep rocky climbs. It has hairpin turns and lots of loose rocks. It will be a good challenge for ATVs to make it to the first lake, and they'll be rewarded with a nice view of the lake. This trail is open 7/16 - 9/4 for motorized use.

Difficulty
This first 1.5 miles from the trailhead are about a 3 difficulty for an ATV, and the last segment gets progressively harder, being about a 5 difficulty for ATVs. The trail is a bit easier for dirt bikes that can pick their line better through the boulders.
