Trail Overview
This short, scenic climb leads to a locked gate and a brief 1/4 mile hike to the lookout tower. You could take the road up, but the hiking trail offers excellent views of the surrounding mountains and lakes on your way up. At the time of recording, the tower itself was closed and under construction, but the views from the top must be legendary. If you care to hike up to camp, there's a fire ring at the top. Be sure to check with the Ranger Station to ensure this is allowed. The trail is mostly easy, steep in some sections, and a few rocky areas. There are three bars of LTE cell service at the top.
