Trail Overview
From the north end, the Ramshorn Lake trail starts in the meadows, then goes along the creek for a long way and has a bunch of embedded rock features and roots, and does a little bit of side-hilling. There are lots of jarring rocky and rooty sections with embedded boulders that beat you down, but no giant ledges or obstacles. After a couple of miles, it widens up, goes through tons of mud bogs, and has been torn apart and blown out due to horse usage. It passes Ramshorn Lake, which you can ride to the edge of, and passes a horse stable. As it continues south, it's increasingly torn apart from the horses. Some sections have split lines, making the trail 20 feet wide with multiple options. There are many little bridges with a lip on them that you have to get a little momentum over. Parts of the trail look like they've been rerouted to make it easier and less steep for the horses. The mud and troughs from the horses make it brutal, but it's still scenic and fun to see the mountains and lake, and it's still fun to take this trail to make a loop out of your ride with all the other single tracks in this area. Just be ready for the trail to be chopped up if you don't mind. It's open 7/16 - 9/4 to dirt bikes.

Difficulty
This trail is intermediate difficulty due to several rocky and rooty sections that are jarring and tiring, and lots of rutted, chopped up mud bogs.
