Trail Overview
Route starts at Fish Lake Hot Springs which has camps and a vault toilet. Area is patrolled by the sheriff, which is nice due to the high traffic at the springs. McAfee Road is not maintained, but is still in good shape. A high-clearance 2WD could run the route. There are numerous mines to check out along the way. The south end of the road has rolling hills of Joshua Trees.

Difficulty
The road not maintained, and there is not enough room in most spots to pass another vehicle. You may have to do some road clearing of fallen rocks and trees. High-clearance 2WD would work for three seasons out of a year.
