Trail Overview
Cow Creek Loop is a trail that offers a great variety of entry-level to moderate challenges but can be done by most high-clearance AWD and 4WD vehicles with proper line choice. The trail terrain changes several times from a dirt to rock surface with a few sections featuring short off-camber sections and some rutting in excess of 15 inches in depth. There are no above-grade obstacles larger than 12 inches along the trail. However, the combination of rutting and small sections of loose rocks offers a lightly challenging experience, especially after rain or snow, with some spots holding water and becoming standing mud holes. There is little to no room for passing along the narrow sections of the trail, and some overgrowth is present that will result in some minor trail rash. Dispersed camping is permitted along the loop of FSR-569CB and FSR-569C, however, finding a spot may be challenging as the trees and brush are fairly dense along this section. Cell service is very weak and spotty along the loop, so ensure to plan ahead with offline maps. There are four additional spurs off this route that provide additional areas to explore.
