Trail Overview
Pinon Long is a well-featured trail and features everything from rock gardens to off-camber sections and rutting. Obstacles up to, and some slightly larger than 12", heavy rutting with depths approximately 14" and slightly off camber in areas. Several washes with the potential to be low-level water crossings through the trail, and the potential to become very muddy after rain or snow melt. The route is primarily single-vehicle wide with a few areas wide enough to pass. There are multiple areas to disperse camp, and a few hiking and motorized spurs along the way. This is an out-and-back trail that will be easily completed by most 4x4s with good clearance. Great trail for camping and exploring, and for the newer off-road drivers wanting to get some experience without being overly technical or difficult. There is no cell service in this area. The trail ends in a wide-open meadow and features a few designated hiking trails with signage.
