Trail Overview
The beginning of Van Husen Road passes closely by a private house and continues past a barn. The road is not marked with a seasonal road sign but is a town road and open to the public. The road is not plowed past the barn and the snow tends to pile up and block the road during the winter. At other times of the year, the road is an easy climb. The last 100 yards past the last private drive is wet and requires 4x4 to keep the ground from getting rutted up. The road terminates at Pigtail Hollow State Forest with a small overgrown parking area. This area is not well known or utilized much. An old house foundation can also be found in the area.

Difficulty
During winter, the road is not maintained and the road is often blocked by a snow pile. The rest of the year, it is an easy climb, but the last 100 yards will require 4x4 to avoid rutting up the wet areas.
