Trail Overview

Cedar Tree is one of two Jeep Badge of Honor Trails in Tillamook State Forest and in all of Oregon state. The trail is about 4.5 miles long and you should plan to spend about 4 to 4.5 hours to complete it. This trail winds through the incredibly lush Tillamook Forest (some say rainforest). Being a coastal mountain, the area receives a moderate amount of precipitation throughout the year. When dry, you can easily do the trail in 4 hours, but when wet, it will take longer due to slick rocks, tree roots, and the trail in general. Go prepared; start with a full fuel tank and pack a lunch as you will be miles from civilization. Have recovery gear, spare parts, and knowledge just in case.

Access Description

Enter from Highway 6 at the summit by the ODOT Gravel Shed. Just up and to the left is a short trail to the day-use/parking area for airing up/down, and it has vault toilets. This entrance is 35 miles from the town of Tillamook, Oregon, and about 9 miles from Glenwood, Oregon, both of which have fuel stations (although Glenwood does not have diesel). It takes a while to reach this trail in particular.
