Trail Overview
This trail leads from the pit toilet and dumpster at Frog creek camping entrance to the playa. The trail skirts along the edge of the dry lake. Then turns up into the hills, where it ends at an expansive panorama of the Alvord lakebed below. Please be cautious of the lakebed surface and do not attempt to drive on it if it's wet. That could become a very costly recovery. The trail is rocky and slick from the lakebed, with a loose, steep climb to the top of the view area. Once there, toss out a chair, kick back and enjoy all the little dust clouds from vehicles zipping this way and that on the lakebed below. It's a treat, for sure. There are two bars of Verizon LTE cell coverage.
