Trail Overview
This is a well-maintained gravel road accessible by any stock vehicle. It starts just off of I-75 and is a nice gravel road with a few potholes and puddles. Any stock truck or SUV can do this section at least as far as the shooting range. After that, it is a little rougher with a few steep rocky hills, some exposed ledges up to 4 inches, and some small mud puddles, but still doable by any stock 4WD vehicle. Airing down is recommended to smooth out the bumps and help with traction on the steep sections. There are a few pull-offs and campsites off this road and a few nice views of ponds and mountains. About 1.7 miles into the trail, there is a shooting range with 50, 100, and 150-yard ranges. The use of trails in the North Cumberland WMA requires a valid TWRA Riding permit (Type 38, 72, or 71 for Out of State) or the necessary hunting permits to hunt in the North Cumberland WMA (Type 001 and 093 for residents). These are available at https://license.gooutdoorstennessee.com/.
