Trail Overview

This muddy lake access road is a key road to know for some remote hunting spots from the spurs running from this trail. Not only is it a great road for hunting, but anglers will enjoy this as well as it has some of the most amazing views of Sam Rayburn Reservoir and some sweet, but sticky places to put in a boat.

Difficulty

90% of this trail is traversable with most rigs, but when you get to the end, the trail is completely saturated with water from Sam Rayburn and even the most capable of rigs can get stuck here. There is a turn around area at the end where most all of the rigs end up getting stuck at. If you're alone, stop early and walk it first, if your boots are sinking just think of what your tires will do.

History

This has been a forest road to control the prescribed burns here for decades, and before that, it was a road that led to the communities that were in the way of Sam Rayburn's creation.
