Trail Overview
Take a leisurely drive north off Highway 14 through a meadow bordering a giant field of black lava rock. The trail takes you right up close to the lava rocks, where you can explore, touch, and see these unique porous rocks formed by volcanic activity in the area thousands of years ago. The trail continues into the trees, increasing slightly in difficulty. You will follow the trail uphill into the trees, going over lava rock and fallen trees.
