Trail Overview
Pine Valley Road is a 29.5-mile point-to-point improved dirt road that is a connector road between the city of Cedar City and Ely, Nevada. The trail is rated 1 of 10 because of a short section of embedded slick rock in the improved road. The majority of this road is two-track and adequate for 2WD passenger vehicles. The southern end of the road starts at the intersection of Mountain Springs and Jackson Wash roads with the north end at Utah State Highway 21. There are many side trails leading to BLM dispersed camping as well as other various small ranching communities. Cellphone service is limited in this area. Although this is a well-maintained road it is in a remote area and the closest fuel and food services are located in Milford at least 50 miles distant. Pine Valley Road is one of two roads that provide access to the Wah Wah Mountains to the east.
