Trail Overview
Richfield Pioneer Road North is an 11.9-mile (23.8-mile round trip) out-and-back trail rated 3 of 10 located in Millard County. The trail is located within the Fishlake National Forest, Fillmore Ranger District. This trail is also marked as Paiute Side Trail #96 and is popular with the ATV/UTV crowd although it is open to all vehicles. The trail runs north past Robins Lake the lowest point on the trail at 8900'. Dispersed camping is allowed, and motor vehicle use off of designated roads and trails for the purpose of dispersed camping is permitted in Fishlake National Forest up to 150 feet from the centerline of the road or trail for the period year-round. Although the trail is open to all motorized travel I would not expect this trail to be open until late spring due to snow. The trail continues north past Coffee Peak (10005') and ends at the trailhead for Wind Springs Canyon. Here it becomes a non-motorized trail that leads over the divide to the Wide Springs Canyon on the west side. There are several other non-motorized in this area that run along the divide. Note, that there is a section of private land on the west side of the trail (directly west of Robins Lake. Another point of interest off the main trail is the NFS Pioneer Guard Shack (5.5 miles from trailhead take FR40396 for three-quarters of a mile). Cellular telephones do not work in many areas of the Fishlake National Forest. The nearest services are located to the east in Salina.
