Trail Overview
Sand Surfer is a 3.6-mile-long trail that runs north and northwest from Warner Valley Road. It follows the Sand Mountain ridgeline before ending at Upson Downs access road. The track is fast and flowing in many sections. The ground surface is a rotating mix of hard dirt and sand, with sand increasing as your approach the ridgeline. Once at the ridgeline, the trail cuts across dozens of hills formed by cliff erosion. Each hill is something different and may be rock, deep sand, or some combination of the two.
