Trail Overview
Archer Run is a basic trail in Virginia's George Washington National Forest. It is mainly a dirt road, with some areas of minor rockiness. It meanders through the mountains of western Virginia, offering good views of the surrounding ridge lines and valleys. The trail has several switchbacks, which break up the monotony and keep it interesting. The trail doesn't offer many campsites, but the ones that it does have are pretty decent. The trail isn't heavily traveled, which makes the handful of campsites even more appealing.
