Trail Overview

Gumboot Mountain Trail will lead you deep into the forest. The trail is narrow--very narrow in some areas--and it has several areas where overgrowth is abundant, making for a tight squeeze with a full-sized 4x4. The trail has deep washouts, some of which are extremely off-camber. There are also plenty of deep ruts filled with water and mud along the path. The trail has areas that are eroded. Since the trail is very narrow, turn-around spots are limited, but they do exist. The trail width is generally only 1 vehicle wide with limited places to pass other vehicles. There are a few areas that could be used for dispersed camping along this trail. This is a deep forest route, so there are no spectacular views. However, if you enjoy going into the deep forest areas, then this is a fun and semi-challenging trail.
