Trail Overview

Pats is a short 48" ATV trail in the Walker Valley ORV Area that starts directly from the staging area off of Peter Burns Rd. It starts out with a small rocky climb, up a dirt surface with loose round rocks in the trail and embedded rock surfaces. It goes through a really unique terrain that is like a dense jungle, with lush ferns and moss-covered fir trees. There are several roots crossing the trail that you have to watch out for as they can be slippery when wet. The trail is pretty wide, accommodating for 48" ATVs. There are lots of whoops and tight corners around the trees. It crosses several wooden bridges, and there are several sections with cement pavers in the trail to help with erosion. Overall this trail would be pretty easy for average dirt bikers, and slightly more difficult for ATVs during the narrow and rocky sections. There are a number of sharp rocks jutting out, and there is one tight pinch point for ATVs, as two larger boulders are lining the trail.

Access Description

The Walker Valley ORV Area is a small trail system with about 20+ ATVs and dirt bike trails. ATVs must be 48" or less. The staging area is a dirt parking lot with a U-turn for trailers that is accessed off of Walker Valley Road west of Big Lake. It's a popular trail system, great for families and beginner riders. It is well-signed throughout the system, as it is a bit of a maze of trails. It has a mix of easy and intermediate trails in a lush and dense forest typical to the Pacific Northwest. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for all vehicles. It is very busy on weekends.
