Meadow River Rail Bed

Trail Overview

This trail starts on an old railroad bed in Nallen, WV, in Nicholas County along the Meadow River. After about 6 miles of tight cover, things open up a bit for more comfort. The first 6 miles has only 3 or 4 places wide enough to allow opposite travel passing. Road forks and goes underneath the Meadow River Bridge (Kevin Ritchie Bridge). Going left at the fork takes you towards Fayette County, WV, and you will come out at Divide Elementary off Route 60. There are some breathing-taking sights along this trail from both ends, including water rapids and some waterfalls.

Water crossing, old bridge crossing and about 6 miles of overgrown railroad bed. If you don't want scratches on your ride do not go in from Nallen WV
