Eagle Valley

Trail Overview

Eagle Valley is a highlight of visiting the Peach Valley riding area and shouldn't be missed if up for a rocky challenge. The trail is short, only 1 mile, but one of the more difficult trails in the trail system. It starts in a wash from the staging area on Chukar Road, and then quickly enters into a beautiful rocky slot canyon with cool rock walls. You immediately ride over several rock slab sections that are like ramps that are not too difficult if you pick the right line. One of the sections has a bit of an overhang sticking out which makes it more difficult. After the initial rock slab sections, the trail continues in a sandy wash with lots of other small rock obstacles. The crux of the trail is one rock ledge obstacle that is about a 5 difficulty, that is a two or three-foot high ledge that is blunter and less like a ramp. There are rocks piled up in front to help ramp up it, and two routes to choose from on either side of the wash. The left is probably easier. The trail exits the wash with a small climb to the right and intersects with the Sidewinder Trail. This is one of the most scenic and unique trails in the riding area, and would probably be easier going down instead of up. People often come here to hike since it is so scenic, so watch out for hikers and dogs on the trail.
