Trail Overview
The trail begins just north of Dateland. Turn off the tarmac onto a wide-grated dirt trail. The trail veers left, and when the trail appears to go left again, keep an eye out for the sharp right where the trail turns North. It's easy to miss. There are several private properties before it turns into little rolling hills covered in dark river rocks. Once on the dark rocks, the trail can be hard to see on the rolling hills. Some cell service is out there; however, we also recommend downloading offline maps. Follow the trail maps and take a gentle roller coaster ride along the hills, ending at an excellent point with a good spot to camp above this little sandy hidden canyon. The best time of year to visit is in spring and fall when the temperatures are cooler.
