Trail Overview
Dutch Fred Trail is a 4.7-mile-long two-track that starts at the Dutch Fred Trailhead off Rampart Range Road and goes south to connect to Jackson Creek South Road. It goes through a pine tree forest with huge granite boulders, on somewhat of a sloped trail with tons of pea gravel. It has tons of tight curves as it zig-zags through the forest. Some of the turns are more rutted, some are big sweeping corners that are banked, and some are tighter hairpins. It's a steady downhill all the way to Jackson Creek South Road, losing about 700 feet of elevation. There are a few embedded rocks here and there but overall this one is pretty easy with no big obstacles.
