Trail Overview
Leap Frog is a 62-inch trail that prohibits full-width vehicles in the Munds Park OHV system. The south end starts on the Frog Tank Loop and makes a semi-loop as it rides north and then back south to meet up with Rocky Road. Much of the trail is very rocky, with lots of small loose rocks in the trail, and sometimes bigger boulders. There are sections where there is a lot of logging debris in the trail, including small branches and sticks, and it goes through several gates. Some sections are easier and tightly curve through a flat forest floor with less rock. The trail is signed pretty well the whole time. Look for the small signs on the trees that say "Trail" and indicate which direction to go. It gets a bit confusing near where this trail parallels the Interstate singletrack because a bunch of debris from logging activity left it hard to see a turn that goes south. There are a couple of sections that look like the trail only gets ridden by dirt bikes, but most of the rest of the track is plenty wide enough for 62-inch UTVs. There are no significant obstacles on this trail, just lots of rocks and tons of loose cobble in sections. It would be easy for an ATV, UTV, or dirt bike. The west and east halves of the trail are connected by 2.5 miles of a full-width road after it crosses Forest Service Road 700. The whole trail including the full width section is 13 miles long. The east half of the trail has small sections of trail in between wider road as well, as some sections of the trail look like they've been widened for logging activity.
