Trail Overview

NOTE THIS CAN ONLY BE DRIVEN DURING LOW RESERVOIR LEVELS! This is a gentle dirt road with two worn earth berms to cross. Closer to the reservoir along US Hwy 26, there are loose sandy areas. The low vantage point from the valley floor is breathtaking on a clear day with views of the surrounding mountains and can be driven with any vehicle. We started our drive from Alpine Junction off, Old Alpine Cor 100 going West. We then turned right at Old Alpine Rd at the border of Idaho and Wyoming. The remainder of the beach can be driven further North before ending at a rock face. Camping is allowed along the reservoir and dirt bikes, SXS and four wheelers were observed along the beach open riding parallel to US Hwy 26.
