Trail Overview
Ruby Ranch Road, also called Floy Wash Road, is an easy, graded dirt road that starts at exit 175 from Highway I-70 near Green River, Utah, and heads south 12 miles to the staging area for the White Wash Recreation Area. This is the main way to get to the Open Riding Area and the sand dunes. The road is mostly dirt and gravel, smooth, and has no obstacles. It has lots of easy curves, and the surface is mostly gravel. There are tons of great big camp spots right off of the main road as you get closer to the staging area. It's a very dusty road, but accessible in almost any vehicle--2WD, big RVs, and motorhomes. After the staging area and the end of this track, the road drops off the mesa and becomes much rougher and sandier as it approaches the sand dunes, so most people stage or camp at the top of the mesa. This OHV area gets extreme heat in the summer, and can also be pretty cold in the winter, but is rideable fall through spring.
