Trail Overview

This trail has a little bit of everything; gravel, rocks, mud, hills, and a river crossing. It is accessible from either end, but I prefer to wash my truck in the river on the way out. Watch out for dirtbikes and ORVs on the trail as you are crossing the Chadwick motorcycle and ATV recreation area.

Pretty fun little trail, just the right distance if you’re rocking it with a toddler. He was about ready towards the last 1/4 mile. This also was just the right amount of fun for a stock Gladiator on crappy tires. I might not have attempted this trail if I had known just how bumpy it was going to be but we went into it blind and pushed the ol stocker to its full potential as it just rained yesterday so there were some huge puddles on the last stretch of hills with literally no way to turn around haha. Nothing on this trail woulda been a match for my lifted wrangler but in a stack 4x4 I’d say it was close today.

Trail was very dry compared to when I last was here in April, barely a trickle at the crossing and most of the mud holes were dry

There are some campsites right before the trail at Cobb Ridge that we stayed at. We started from the south end and went followed the trail till Ctr Rd. Was my first trail with my stock 22 Tacoma TRD Sport with street tires on. Handled it well, most of the trail is large gravel with occasional sharper rocks that I tried to avoid. Definitely some big ruts in places and being that it rained 1-2 hour before there were some deeps areas. One area I was almost my full tire deep. Along with the deeper water areas there were some rock ledge step downs that I had to take slow, I did scrape on my factory steps but outside of that I had plenty of clearance. The trail was a little tight. There are some spots where you will for sure make contact specifically at the end of the trail with some branches, so if you are taking a suv or truck beware of that. It took about 40min and was beautiful, you are surrounded by big tall trees and it winds up and down, would definitely recommend it!

Access Description

The trail start is located at the entrance to the Cobb Ridge campground. Continue on the road past the campground where it turns to dirt.
