Trail Overview
The Sand Wash Trail is an easy sand wash for the entire 4.5 miles. The wash has small loose bits of gravel in the wash but no big rocks. It's easy to ride, with the harder parts being some tighter curves and sections of deeper sand. However, the wash has lots of unmarked splits, so following a GPS track is helpful to stay in the correct wash. The east beginning of the trail leaves the staging area through a pinch point and then goes through a cross-country area that has lots of unmarked trail crossings that can be confusing, but the Sand Wash Trail just stays in the wash the whole time. It's really wide in the beginning, but the west end narrows up. It has a short climb out of the wash at the end that is steady, but rocky, and it ends on Forest Service Road 361.
