Trail Overview
The first 21 miles are county-maintained gravel, the next 3.1 miles can be rough at times especially when wet, not recommended. 2WD high clearance most of the way, some fairly uneven areas but we did it all in 2WD in a Jeep. A little climb to the actual mine ruins, but doable in 2WD.

History
Deposit: Production in the district was sporadic from 1912 to 1918 production was revived in 1935 with the discovery of the jumbo mine. Production of gold and silver peaked in the the 1930's and dwindled through the 1940's and 1950's from 1935-1959, 25, 648 oz. Gold were produced by the district
