Trail Overview
This is a fun and easy dirt trail. It is an excellent alternative to driving the Box Wash trail. The trail runs along a hillside up through the valley with outstanding views of the mountains on either side. The trail is narrow, so there could be paint damage from the angry desert plants. There are dense fields of cholla cactus and lots of beautiful saguaro. There are no areas to disperse camp along this trail. Camping might not be advised anyway with all of the jumping cactus cholla--especially not a good place to let the dogs out to run around. In the springtime, keep your eyes peeled for blooming cacti and wildflowers in a usually very brown desert landscape. This is part of a vast network of trails out here; there are lots to explore. One bar of AT&T cell service is all that is available.
