Trail Overview

This trail out to the Linda Mine and Memorial can be run as an out-and-back or it can be connected to other trails at the mine to create a loop. Starting this trail from the AZPT trail, things quickly turn into a sandy wash. The gravelly sand wash makes up at least half of this trail. It is quite loose. The trail is narrow in places and not recommended for larger vehicles. Eventually, the trail pops out of the wash and follows some hard-packed, rocky ridgelines. There are a couple of washout transitions that would be difficult for longer-wheelbase vehicles along the ridge section of the trail. With about a third of the trail left, there is a loose, steeper climb up a hill. The trail twists and turns, heading closer to the mountains. It ends at a flat parking area above a mine with a memorial for Linda. Pick up the Fort Mojave to Linda Mine trail to pop down the other side and see the other side of the remnants of the old mine. The Fort Mojave to Linda Mine trail is not a wash but a more hardpacked dirt trail. There are a few campsites as well with fire rings. There is 5G cell service at most of these camping areas and up at the Memorial. Pack in and pack out all trash. This area can also get extremely hot in the summer months. Bring extra water and supplies if traveling during the summer.
