Trail Overview
This section of the Arizona Peace Trail runs from the quirky Saguaro cactus in the center of the trail down to the Red Raven trail intersection. It's a lovely drive with a few challenging sections of loose rocky climbs/ off-camber hills and short small Boulder fields. A few campsites are scattered here and there for a pleasant, serene night with little ambient light or traffic. Some entrances and exits to the washes are steep and loose and may require a careful line choice to avoid bumper contact. Be sure to air down to make it through the sandy wash crossings and avoid sidewall damage from the very sharp rocks. Some tighter sections guarantee paint damage from the angry, sharp desert plants. For a great side trip, head into the Kofa Preserve, but please remember plated vehicles only. There are two bars of Verizon cell service near the south and none at the north section. Plan accordingly and download your offline maps before exploring this area.
