Trail Overview
This route is a great option to bypass the very deep sandy section of the Arizona Peace Trail. That section would be challenging with a heavy Moto or aired-up stock vehicle. This bypass also offers some excellent camping options right at the base of Coyote Peak or further along before one turns on the gas line section of the route. The campsites have well-established rock fire rings and tons of flat space for larger groups. As a bonus, this is where Verizon cell service pops back on with two bars. There is a small section of sand on this route, but it's much more manageable and only lasts for a short time. Once on the gas line road, watch for deeper washouts or potholes hiding in the shadows.

Difficulty
Mostly wide and well-graded. A short section of sand is passable but nowhere near as deep as the other sections.
