Trail Overview
This short bumpy out-and-back trail heads back into a massive lava rock field with a single camping spot and room for a few rigs to find flat parking. It's a short side excursion from the Arizona Peace Trail and a great option if one travels the trail and wants a camping spot with a nice view away from the main trail. A few deep washouts will drag hitch receivers with poor line choice. There are a few sharp plants to scratch paint and plenty of opportunities to destroy a sidewall. This area of the desert is brutal. Just ask the BLM folks who are running around with double spare tires. The lava field is quite bumpy, so airing down is highly recommended. There is no cell service back here, and it's the desert. Be sure to bring lots of water.
