Back Way to Black Canyon City

So I did this trail backwards (starting in Black Canyon City) and I haven’t done it the correct way but wow there was some parts that definitely made me get out and assess and choose new lines due to comfortability as well as some of the rock placements. Going the correct way there’s a drop down about 7-9 feet tall but going backwards that is the first higher technical obstacle you come across and things get rather more technical from there. Fun trail nevertheless. Area is riddled with yellow-jackets so be prepared with airing down way before and windows up unless you like that fear while navigating the terrain. Would have been fun to do with some buddies but the way I did it, lockers, 35’s and rock sliders are recommended, even wished I had some aftermarket skids underneath, took some carnage.

Started in Table Mesa, trail is 3-4/10 for the first 2/3 of trail. Then you hit a rock filled hill, and from there on is much harder. Stock Rubicon, 33in tires, and really needed more clearance in this section. Had to stack rocks at one point…did this solo, but that was a bad idea…still a really fun and scenic trail!

First half is easy, second half has some challenging spots. It’s a good idea to go with two rigs, I ran it solo and got s little nervous in a couple spots.
