Trail Overview
Head North on AZ 64 from Williams toward the South gate of Grand Canyon Canyon National Park. 15 Minutes after passing through Valle/Grand Canyon Junction, you'll find the trailhead on the East side of 64. This beautiful drive starts off in Arizona's high desert. Skirting the south side of Red Butte, you'll be enthralled with views of the San Francisco Peaks to the South East. The high desert yields to beautiful rolling forests of Ponderosa Pine. A well-marked forest road, it accommodates all types of vehicles with large pull-through type dispersed primitive camping sites. Stop to take in the fresh air, and you'll find evidence of wild horses, elk, deer, and antelope.

Difficulty
Monsoon season in AZ could prove to make this road a bit more messy, with some of the lower ditch crossing challenging when filled with water or mud.
